Charles McGinley was the Assistant Manger of WJMA in 1949 and 1950. He was on the original staff when the station signed on the air for the first time in September of 1949.
He had met Art Livick, WJMA's first General Manager, when Art worked to WJEJ in Hagerstown, MD. Art offered him a job on the staff of a new radio station.
In addition to his managerial duties, Charlie did an air shift, sales, and programming. The microphone appears to be an RCE 88-A. A 1949 RCA catalog showed the price as $45.
This picture is from 1949. Compare it to the next picture in this gallery. Both were taken in Studio A of the DeVivi Restaurant location.
