Charlie McGinley was on the original WJMA staff when the station first signed on the air on September 10, 1949. He was the Assistant Manager, which he said meant he did a bit of everything. In this picture he's in Studio 1 which was adjacent to the control room.
The original location of WJMA was in the DeVivi Restaurant building on US Route 15 south of Orange. The restaurant building and Jefferson Motel were raised in 2008 to make way for a Comfort Inn.
