Welford Sherman is at the microphone in this picture which is from WJMA's first day of broadcasting...September 10, 1949. Seated behind Welford are Henry DeJarnette (L) and Norman C. Bailey (R). Both men were stockholders and on the first Board of Directors. The two persons hidden by Welford are unknown.
The person wearing headphones at the far left may be Chief Engineer Talmadge England.
The picture was probably taken at the DeVivi Club which was adjacent to the DeVivi Restaurant...the first home of WJMA.
