Boyd Schellinger at the WJMA studios in Orange, Virginia. The photo dates from 1949 or 1950. Schellinger used the name Boyd Schilling on the air. When WJMA first began broadcasting in September 1949, Schellinger did the "Tops In Pops" request program weekday mornings at 7:35 and the morning "Birthday Table" program.
It's not certain what Schelling is pointing to, but it may be a "traffic" system for scheduling commercials, PSAs, programs and other parts of the broadcast day.
